MLI Steering Group Election

The purpose of the Steering Group is to provide strategic direction, advice and support to the core MLI team and working groups. We are very grateful to the current members of Steering Group who have guided the development of MLI so successfully to date.

We would like to take this opportunity to particularly thank Joe Hoban from RTE (representing PSB), Daryl Moorhouse from Tinpot Productions (representing Independents), Marian Higgins from Kildare County Council and the LAI (representing Information Society) and Kennedy O’Brien from Twitter (representing Digital Media / Tech Platforms) for their support and guidance. While we look forward to continuing to work with each of them in the future on specific MLI projects, they have volunteered to step down from the Steering Group this year to facilitate the election of new members.

Representation: For the term 2022 – 2024, we have four MLI Steering Group places available representing the following sectors:

  • Public Service Broadcasting
  • Independent
  • Information Society
  • Digital Media / Technology Platforms

Commitment: To date, the time commitment for Steering Group members has been approximately 2 hours every 3/4 months, with additional time sometimes required for support / correspondence on specific MLI activities.

Process: if you would like to be considered for election to the Steering Group please complete the nomination form that was circualted to all members and email it to martinachapman@mercuryinsights.com, making sure to indicate which of the 4 sectors outlined above that you would like to represent, and including a short bio (c300 words) that you are happy to have shared with all other MLI members. If you did not receive the nomination form, please email martinachapman@mercuryinsights.com as soon as possible.

The deadline for emailing nominations and bios to Martina is 22ndNovember.

On 24th November, a list of the nominees will be circulated to the MLI membership, along with instructions on how to submit your vote. It is anticipated that the new Steering Group members will be announced at the MLI Annual Conference in Cork on 15th December.

MLI Steering Group members have an important role to play in the success of MLI and we hope to continue to attract people with a diverse set of skills and experiences, so please do consider putting yourself forward for election, or encouraging other MLI members to go forward for election.
