Adult Literacy for Life Collaboration and Innovation Fund now open for applications

Media literacy stakeholders and practitioners may be interested to know that the Adult Literacy for Life (ALL) Collaboration and Innovation Fund is now inviting applications for projects. This fund is aimed at collaborative initiatives that support adults with unmet literacy, numeracy, digital and financial literacy needs and that help organisations and services to become more literacy friendly and aware.

Over the last three years, this funding has helped over 250 projects and enabled organisations from the public, not-for-profit, community and voluntary sectors to support thousands of learners.

For 2026, the ALL Collaboration and Innovation Fund has three strands and projects can focus on any one of these areas:

  • Strand 1 – General literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy: €700,000 is available to fund projects that help adults improve their reading, writing, maths, and computer skills.
  • Strand 2 – Financial literacy: €200,000 is available for projects that help adults learn about money management and make financial services easier to access.
  • Strand 3 – Family literacy: €100,000 is available for projects that help parents with literacy needs support their children’s learning at home and in the community.

Applications are welcomed from organisations that work in the public, not-for-profit, community and voluntary sector, and at least two organisations must be involved. The project should be new or innovative – that is, not work that is already happening – and the project should have clear positive outcomes for adults with unmet literacy needs, including making Ireland more literacy friendly.

The online application form is here and the deadline for submitting your application is 12 p.m. on Thursday, 22 January 2026.  More information can be found at https://www.adultliteracyforlife.ie/fund/
