Dorothee Meyer-Holtkamp

Dorothee is a manager within the Media Literacy and User Education team at Coimisiún na Meán, Ireland’s media regulator. In this role, she contributes to fulfilling the regulator’s statutory duty to promote media literacy, including supporting initiatives through Media Literacy Ireland.

Prior to joining Coimisiún na Meán Dorothee was the Outreach and Media Coordinator at Near FM and Near Media Co-op, where she focused on outside broadcasts, community engagement, media literacy training, content development, and social enterprise growth. She has coordinated and partnered on numerous BAI and EU-funded projects, creating training and programming aimed at fostering a more diverse media landscape.

She is passionate about working with communities to critically engage with media and to participate in inclusive, ethical content creation. Her particular area of focus is explaining how online media regulation in Ireland works and what rights the general public have now.

Dorothee holds a BA in European Development Studies from University College Cork and an MA in Intercultural Studies from Dublin City University.
