Media Literacy Ireland was delighted to be the official client partner for the 2026 Irish Young Lions Competition.
Organised by Iapi, the Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland, and sponsored by Smurfit Westrock, the Irish Young Lions Competition kicked-off with a competition briefing and bootcamp for the Iapi’s top under-30 creative members, hosted by Droga5 Dublin and Accenture Song on Friday 27 February.

The teams then had one weekend to develop powerful campaigns to support MLI’s mission of helping people across Ireland critically engage with media in an increasingly complex digital world – with a particular focus on tackling misinformation among the over-55 age group.
Iapi said that this year’s teams demonstrated exceptional creativity and innovation, making the selection process challenging for the judging panel, but decisions were made and the shortlist was announced on 16 March.
The shortlisted teams must present their entries before an expert judging panel to decide which of the winning teams will go forward compete internationally at the Young Lions Competition held in Cannes, France later this summer.
