EMIF Fast-track call for funding proposals

The European Media and Information Fund (EMIF) has opened a fast-track Call for Proposals, under the Investigations into Disinformation area of intervention, to address three pressing topics:

  • the ongoing Israel-Hamas war,
  • the 2024 elections for the European Parliament (EP),
  • the underlying dynamics enabling the monetisation of disinformation through advertisements placed on online platforms interfaces next to disinformation content or third-party websites that repeatedly distribute disinformation content.

The key aim of this fast-track Call is to urgently respond to the threats posed by disinformation on the above-mentioned critical areas. Project proposals should combine best journalistic practices, outcomes from fact-checking activities, and analytical frameworks from leading research.

The maximum grant per project is € 150.000, with a 9 months maximum duration. Only legal entities established in the EU, EFTA or the UK are eligible for funding.

Deadline for applications is 5 February 2024, 12:59 CET.

More information is available on the EMIF website.
