2022 MLI Annual Conference
It’s almost time. We are less than four weeks away from our first ‘in-person’ MLI event in since late 2019.
The 2022 MLI Annual Conference will take place on December 15th in Cork. We are delighted to have the opportunity to follow up on our commitment to host MLI events ‘out of Dublin’ and we would like to thank MLI members Trend Micro for kindly offering to host the conference at their premises.
The theme of the conference is Meaningful Media Literacy and we will explore aspects such as engagement, activism, equity and responsible citizenship.
As MLI celebrates our 5th year, this is a good time to look at what we have achieved, and it is also a good time to consider the factors that might influence how we approach out work in the future.
During this conference we will consider how ML is changing in response to new challenges emerging from evolving technology and changing social norms and consider how our work to promote media literacy might need to evolve too.
We are thrilled to announce a spectacular line-up of speakers including (but not limited to!)
Belinha De Abreu, PhD, global media literacy educator and author of the recently published book Media Literacy, Equity, and Justice.
Paul Mihailidis, associate professor of civic media and journalism in the school of communication at Emerson College in Boston,
Michelle Ciulla Lipkin, Executive Director of the National Association for Media Literacy Education.
We are also going to hear about MLI members are doing, and how they are doing it. So, if you want to take the floor and promote what you are doing, ask for support or just hang out with MLI friends, then make sure you register via this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MLICONF
We will be closing registration soon. SO DON’T MISS OUT!
For MLI members who cannot attend in person, the conference will also be available online and we will share details of the login details closer to the time.
