Among its responsibilities, the Board will set priorities, oversee annual reporting and lead joint initiatives that advance MIL policy, research and practice worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elected members will play a vital role in representing their regions or areas of expertise, fostering collaboration across the global network, and driving meaningful progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The elected members of the MIL Alliance Global Board are organised by category of representation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Geographical representatives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Academic and research representatives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specialist representatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Geographical representatives will play a central role in ensuring balanced, inclusive and context-sensitive governance of the MIL Alliance. Representing the five main UNESCO geographic regions, they will be responsible for communicating regional priorities, challenges and perspectives in the Global Board\u2019s strategic discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The geographical representatives are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Asia and the Pacific: Mradula Singh, Misthy Sablok<br>Africa: Badal Fohmoh, Blaise Pascal Andzongo<br>Arab States: Hania Bitar, Mohamed El-Hawwary<br>Europe and North America: Irene Andriopoulou, Lexie Kirkconnell-Kawana<br>Latin America and the Caribbean: Silvia Bacher, Monica Palomino<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The academic and research representatives will provide the intellectual and evidence-based foundation of the MIL Alliance\u2019s work and will ensure that strategies, policies and activities are informed by rigorous research, critical analysis and academic collaboration. The three positions for academic and research representatives have been filled by Sherri Hope Culver, Fernanda Bonacho and Jos\u00e9 Manuel P\u00e9rez Tornero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The five specialist representatives will provide technical and thematic expertise and ensure that emerging issues, specialised domains and evolving challenges in media and information literacy are adequately addressed, as well as providing practical recommendations.
