The campaign encourages people to \u2018stop, think and check\u2019 information that they see or hear in the media or online. The call to action is to go to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adultliteracyforlife.ie\/medialiteracy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">adultliteracyforlife.ie\/medialiteracy<\/a>&nbsp;where people can test their media literacy knowledge by taking part in a short media literacy WhatsApp quiz.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.medialiteracyireland.ie\/lets-talk-about-media-literacy-on-international-literacy-day-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>More<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MLI Awards 2025 shortlist &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>The wait is over! The shortlisted entries for the Media Literacy Ireland Awards 2025 have been announced. Across the summer we have been busy shortlisting and judging the wonderful entries. Coimisi\u00fan na Me\u00e1n, in collaboration with the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) and An Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na, has created an information pack for journalists which offers advice and support to journalists receiving abuse online.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.medialiteracyireland.ie\/coimisiun-na-means-journalist-pack-and-how-to-report-guides\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>More<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MLI resources<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>We have updated the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medialiteracyireland.ie\/resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">resources<\/a> section of our website to provide easy access to a variety of resources on a wide range of media literacy topics.&nbsp;You can now easily filter by topic, target audience, and type of resource. Coimisi\u00fan na Me\u00e1n is welcoming the views of any interested person or organisation on the contents of its draft Media Pluralism Policy. The organisers are now calling for proposals and abstracts from scholars, researchers and educators at all stages of their careers. The course highlights how vital media and information literacy skills (including knowledge, attitudes and skills) are in combatting climate disinformation and promoting a well-informed, proactive society to address climate challenges.&nbsp;<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.framerspace.com\/course\/climate-change-mil\/?cid=66c4d62fd5a7ecdca11b28b3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>More<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The NewsWise Project: Empowering Older Adults in the Digital Age<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>This project aims to strengthen older adults\u2019 digital media literacy skills, helping them to critically evaluate online media, thereby safeguarding their health and voice in today\u2019s digital society. It provides a detailed account of children\u2019s digital experiences, highlighting both widespread vulnerabilities and urgent areas for action.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cybersafekids.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/CSK_TU-24-25_Web.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>More<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Behind the Screens report<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>This UNESCO report aims to provide valuable insights into the world of digital content creators. The results of this study indicate a pressing need for training and support for&nbsp;digital content creators.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/unesdoc.unesco.org\/ark:\/48223\/pf0000392006\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>More<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ofcom\u2019s Media Nations report<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual Media Nations report is for industry, policymakers, academics and consumers. It aims to capture evolving consumer behaviours and key trends in the media sector, and to set out how audiences are served in the UK.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ofcom.org.uk\/siteassets\/resources\/documents\/research-and-data\/multi-sector\/media-nations\/2025\/media-nations-2025-uk-report.pdf?v=401287\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>More<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Shine Media Monitoring report<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2024, Shine\u2019s Media Programme analysed over 3,000 pieces of suicide-related media content across print, online, radio and television platforms in Ireland. EDMO Ireland is one of 14 hubs that is part-funded by the EU. EDMO Ireland developed the Be Media Smart \u2018Workshop-in-a-Box\u2019, works on media literacy research and standards, and co-hosts the annual Disinformation Forum with MLI.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/edmohub.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>More<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">EDMO Ireland supports media literacy trainer development<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>EDMO Ireland, in collaboration with MLI, is providing media literacy training to a panel of trainers.
