The project is a collaborative effort to enhance media literacy and counter mis- and disinformation, with particular focus on climate-related issues.<br><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.medialiteracyireland.ie\/dismiss-media-manipulation-project-to-combat-climate-misinformation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">More<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Kinia Academy\u2019s new Experience AI programme &nbsp;<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kinia Academy has announced its new fully funded programme for educators nationwide. The Experience AI programme offers cutting-edge resources on artificial intelligence and machine learning for teachers and students. <br><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.medialiteracyireland.ie\/kinia-launches-new-experience-ai-programme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">More<\/a><\/strong> &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fostering Empathy Online: New digital learning course from spunout<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Ireland\u2019s youth information and support platform,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/spunout.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">spunout<\/a>, has developed a new digital resource to help young people find effective ways of responding to online harm and support their peers in online spaces.<br><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.medialiteracyireland.ie\/fostering-empathy-online-spunouts-digital-learning-course-combatting-harm-in-online-spaces\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">More<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Call for proposals: Digital Citizenship Education Forum: Let\u2019s Act Now! \u2013 27\u201328 May<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking place in Strasbourg within the framework of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/europeanyear2025.coe.int\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">European Year of Digital Citizenship Education 2025<\/a>, this forum will gather international experts, cross-sector stakeholders, as well as parents, carers and youth to discuss innovative initiatives in the field of digital citizenship education. There are two ways to participate in the event: as a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/pages\/responsepage.aspx?id=grBJPtViSUilsIbtUZKH0rbMom28fkFJgcF0v3oPYuZUNkRRM1c2UEkxSTlHNFdBNFE4SjcxTlJINi4u&amp;route=shorturl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">prospective participant<\/a>&nbsp;or as a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/pages\/responsepage.aspx?id=grBJPtViSUilsIbtUZKH0vu1Mh7-GYJGsGtaI5sMEC5UN0hLUkpHNkxaRTRGQUI4UEVZVVc5UlAwVy4u&amp;route=shorturl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">prospective speaker<\/a>. The submission deadline is <strong>6 April 2025<\/strong>. <br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.int\/en\/web\/education\/-\/digital-citizenship-education-forum-lets-act-now\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>More<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Funding opportunity: Rethink Ireland Connected Communities Fund 2025\u20132028<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>The 3-year Connected Communities Fund&nbsp;aims to promote equity and inclusion, encourage media literacy and community awareness initiatives, and empower communities to develop meaningful connections across&nbsp;diverse groups. It will offer a package of cash grants and non-financial supports to a maximum value of \u20ac220,800 each for up to five projects, to help them expand and increase their social impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/rethinkireland.ie\/current_fund\/connected-communities-fund-2025-2028\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Connected Communities Fund&nbsp;<\/a>is now open for applications from changemaking non-profit organisations&nbsp;that are&nbsp;dedicated to scaling innovations that strengthen civil society, build community cohesion and empower communities to develop solutions that work for all. This fund is open for applications until <strong>11 April at 1 p.m.<\/strong><br>Apply <a href=\"https:\/\/socialinnov.my.site.com\/fundingportal\/s\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Call for submissions: F\u00cdS Film Competition &nbsp;<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>There is an open invitation to all Department of Education-designated Irish primary schools to enter their films into the 19th annual national F\u00cdS Film Awards competition.&nbsp;To enter, primary schools across the country are asked to create an (up to) five-minute film on a subject of their choice. There is no need to register in advance. The competition closes on <strong>27 June<\/strong>. <br><a href=\"https:\/\/fisfilmproject.ie\/competition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>More<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Announcement of theme of The Children\u2019s Media Conference 2025 \u2013 8\u201310 July<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking place in Sheffield in the UK, the theme of the conference this year is \u2018Shake It Up\u2019 \u2013 reflecting the seismic times we live in \u2013 worldwide and industry-wide. CMC 2025 will explore every possible way to shake up your thinking and help find new ways to serve kids the best possible life-enhancing content, while securing the finance needed to achieve that \u2026 in distinctly shaky times! <br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechildrensmediaconference.com\/events\/cmc-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>More<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Call for proposals: No Time to Wait Conference \u2013 15\u201317 October<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Organised by the National Library of Ireland and <a href=\"https:\/\/mediaarea.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MediaArea<\/a>, this three-day conference explores open media, open standards, and digital audiovisual preservation. The organisers are keen to hear from Irish practitioners and institutions on their various digital preservation and collecting endeavours in the form of panels, lightning talks and full presentations.&nbsp;<br>You can submit a proposal <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdA95yNP7Kc49QfDmg9MGdW5rixMmoVkXRu6urq9465HoVipg\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>. Registration is now <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSfbfANssLfQKmudCQWfwU6xmD1En-5-Vz5ATKNWQHy4nzHHAg\/viewform\"><strong>open<\/strong><\/a> for this event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The VISAVIS project<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>The VISAVIS project focuses on&nbsp;strengthening information skills&nbsp;and&nbsp;developing tools&nbsp;to detect misleading visual information such as manipulated and\/or AI-generated images and videos.
