Google made an inaugural contribution of 25 million euros over 5 years. Google is not involved in decision making and does not profit from intellectual property of any ideas or projects that are financed through the Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are currently four open funding calls related to media literacy including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Boosting Fact-Checking Activities in Europe (First round allocation \u20ac435 000)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interdisciplinary Investigations on Disinformation in Europe (Call allocation \u20ac1.6m)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Supporting Research into Media, Disinformation and Information Literacy Across Europe (Call allocation \u20ac1.6m)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Media and Information Literacy for Citizens Empowerment (Call allocation \u20ac1.6m)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>29 April is the deadline for applications for the calls for Media and Information Literacy, Research into Media, Disinformation and Information Literacy and Multidisciplinary Investigations on Disinformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2 March is the deadline for applications for Boosting Fact-Checking activities in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-outline is-style-outline--1\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/gulbenkian.pt\/emifund\/bolsas-lista\/\" style=\"border-radius:0px\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">More information about the calls are on the EMIF website<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The European Media and Information Fund is established by the&nbsp;European University Institute&nbsp;and the&nbsp;Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation&nbsp;and provides grants to researchers, fact-checkers, not-for-profits and other public interest-oriented organisations working on disinformation research and strengthening media literacy and fact-checking.
