At Sky we believe that a company of our scale has a responsibility to the community in which we operate, and it really is important to us both as a business and for our employees that we support the communities where our customers and employees live and work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Backed by an \u20ac11 million fund, the \u2018Sky Up\u2019 programme is a new initiative that aims to help up-skill 250,000 people across Ireland and the UK by providing them with technology, connectivity and training. The initiative is targeted to support people under 25 in low-income areas and those over the age of 65 – the two primary groups most at risk of digital exclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our recent launch of the Sky Up Academy Studio, which is an immersive digital learning experience, is the next evolution of Sky Up here in Ireland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening of the Sky Up Academy Studio will help unlock possibilities in the digital world, ensuring that individuals from all backgrounds have the resources, skills, and opportunities they need to create a better future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students from primary and secondary schools across Ireland will have the opportunity to visit the purpose-built pop-up TV studio here in our offices. The programme will welcome 3,000 Irish students in 2024. They\u2019ll take on real life media roles and work with our team of experts, to create a news report, creating their own exciting digital content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme will not only improve student\u2019s digital media skills, but it will also broaden their knowledge on the topics they\u2019re using to build their campaign, important topics that we need the younger generation to take an interest in – including our planet, our future, our well-being, and our society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
