Media Literacy Monday Webinar: MIL and Libraries - On the frontline of the battle against misinformation

It could be argued that few professions are as deeply rooted in truth and fact as librarians are. When it comes to information evaluation and media literacy, librarians have been quietly operating on the frontline of the battle against unreliable and inaccurate information.

During this 60 minute webinar we will hear how the four library sections are working to promote media and information literacy and combat misinformation. We will be joined by representatives from School, Public, Government and Academic libraries who will share their approaches and recent experiences.

Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2021

Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2021 will take place from 24 to 31 October 2021, under the theme “Media and Information Literacy for the Public Good”. It will be hosted by South Africa.

All stakeholders are invited to organize online and offline local events/actions and to register them on the Global MIL Week website so that they can be showcased.

The highlights of this year’s Global MIL Week will include the Feature Conference and Youth Agenda Forum which will take place online and gather policy makers, experts, practitioners, researchers, international organizations, NGOs, and private sector organizations from around the globe.
